Actively involved in the negotiations, she has repeatedly criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government for its lack of concrete action and failure to carry out real democratic reforms.
After several days of fighting and mounting tensions, the Syrian government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) agreed on Friday, January 30, to a deal that would integrate the military forces and administration of the Kurdish autonomous region of Rojava into the state. What is your view on this?
We welcome this agreement and thank the countries, institutions and individuals who worked to make it possible. We salute the resistance of the people who, from the very first day, showed solidarity and took to the streets worldwide. We, the DEM party, reaffirm our unwavering commitment to maintaining solidarity to ensure this process succeeds. The will of Rojava [the region under autonomous administration in northern and eastern Syria] is essential for us. Our duty is to support its decisions. We have always insisted that problems must be resolved through negotiation and dialogue, and we reiterate this position today.
