This tool, called PCG Geometry Decals, seems really great for creating terrain-blended rocks, cliffs, and more. So far, Wouter Weynants has implemented surface mesh generation that projects onto the landscape, UV mapping, vertex displacement, normals, static mesh baking, and landscape-conforming stamping.

Regarding its advantages, the developer highlighted that it provides highly detailed local visual information and blends seamlessly with other geometry thanks to height variation. RVT and materials have more limitations, including a maximum number of materials you can use. See more WIPs below:
