MortMort, whose Nintendo-inspired multiplayer platformer prototype we featured earlier, is back with a brand-new project. This time, he’s aiming to capture the vibe of a classic PlayStation 1 title, inspired heavily by Mega Man Legends, but with a magical twist. Also, a few modern touches and fewer of the original hardware’s limitations.
This character, still unnamed, primarily relies on magic but can also throw out quick melee jabs. These are especially useful for breaking boxes, smashing barrels, or getting just a little extra airtime. The animations are snappy and uniquely stylized. Here’s the refined version:
