Clément Doranlo amazed us last year with a stunning sequence from his upcoming short film Riverskin, and now he has returned with another impressive piece featuring a main character dressed in a unique scaled armor called ChromaSuit One.
Everything was modeled, rigged, and animated in Maya, with some additional work done in Procreate and After Effects. Paired with Marion Bulot’s vocals, the music makes this dancing animation feel even more special. The animator also shared behind-the-scenes steps from the creation process:
