On Monday, January 20, Donald Trump was sworn in and officially became the 47th president of the United States at noon in Washington DC, during a ceremony on Capitol Hill. This marks the beginning of the second Trump administration, more than two months after the election of the Republican, who defeated Democrat Kamala Harris in the November 5, 2024 election.
In his inaugural speech, he painted a bleak picture of America today, but promised that “America’s decline is over.”
“January 20, 2025 is Liberation Day,” he said, promising that “the golden age of America begins right now” and adding that “our sovereignty will be reclaimed. Our safety will be restored.”
