Battlefield 6 open beta weekend started hot – a bit too hot, actually, with casualties witnessed not only on the screen but in real life, too. One ZOTAC GeForce RTX 5090 owner, known as york4517 on GamerTW forums, felt the heat too close: during a match, their GPU suddenly caught on fire.
As reported by VideoCardz, their screen suddenly froze in the middle of the match, and they saw flames and felt a burning smell coming from the computer. york4517 says that the issue happened where the GPU meets the motherboard, with the fire lasting for about 10 seconds: “In fact, the burn was quite serious. Even the water cooling pipes were blackened.”
