QuadSpinner, the creator of the industry’s beloved terrain design tool for VFX, games, and virtual production, considers this to be one of our biggest updates ever, both in terms of new functionality as well as internal engine upgrades to add a new level of stability. On top of this, developers were able to address suggestions and over 150 bug fixes reported by the community and the internal testing team.

Gaea 2.2 introduces a significant update for Erosion_2 with Selective Precipitation and Orographic Erosion controls, several new nodes, and over 20 enhancements to existing ones. Key workflow improvements include new options in the Viewport and Sky properties, such as advanced mask colorization, making it easier to visualize fine details during terrain creation.

A brand-new Examples Browser has also been added, available from both the Start dialog and the File menu, which provides easy access to 60 new examples:
