Created by B3FX Studios, this new Blender add-on transforms Blender’s material editor into a layer-based painting tool, drawing inspiration from industry-standard workflows like Substance 3D Painter, but fully embedded within Blender.

MatPlus introduces a completely non-destructive paint layer system featuring support for masks, real-time effects (such as blur, levels, and highpass), various blending modes, and 2D symmetry. It also comes equipped with an advanced baking system that uses adaptive cages.

With MatPlus, you can paint directly onto your 3D models, work across multiple UDIMs, and export game-ready texture maps for engines, all without ever leaving Blender. MatPlus includes over 240 grayscale textures for use as masks, more than 360 categorized PBR materials, and a library of high-quality hard-surface textures. It also includes a variety of custom brushes for flexible painting, along with free updates for all 1.x versions.

You can grab MatPlus here and check out B3FX Studios’ other tools like FractureLab, RBDLab, and more:
