Funnily enough, before heeding the demand of gamers worldwide, the game’s developer and publisher were playing hot potato with one another over who was truly to blame for the mind-boggling $80 price tag, with Game Director Brandon Adler trying to deflect criticism from Obsidian Entertainment by stating the pricing decision came from Obsidian’s parent company, Xbox, and not the developer itself.

With the announcement having dropped just minutes ago at the time of writing, it remains to be seen how the gaming community will react to the price being lowered to $70 – a figure some may still consider too high in light of Obsidian’s previous release, Avowed, carrying the same price yet receiving mediocre review scores and dismal player numbers.
