The Elder Scrolls has three games that are considered the stars of the series: Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind. With the success the Oblivion remaster saw, one might think Morrowind deserves its own reimagining, but Bruce Nesmith, a former game designer at Bethesda, doesn’t think so.
In an interview with Press Box PR, he said that people wouldn’t want to play the game again despite “these fond memories of things that were pivotal moments in our gaming fantasy histories.”
There are many “cringe” moments in both Morrowind and Oblivion, he thinks, but “the further back you go, the more that’s going to be an issue. The reality of playing Morrowind would not stand the test of time, in my opinion.”
