Parents, it’s almost time for students to return to school, with the summer holidays coming to an end, and what better way is there to get them prepared than with generous laptop deals? Fortunately, we’ve found a few that might catch your eye, with specifications suitable for multitasking and study, for as little as £249.

With both Acer and HP at the forefront here, affordability is key, and I’m happy to say that all of these deals fit the bill.

Starting with the best deal available, the Acer Chromebook Plus 514 is now available for just £249 (previously £349) at Currys, with a further 10% discount available for students. With an Intel Core 3 N355 processor, 128GB of storage, and up to 10 hours of battery life, the Chromebook Plus 514 will get you through strenuous daily tasks easily.

Performance and power get better with the Acer Aspire Lite 15-inch, and it’s now available for £399 (previously £549) at Currys. Powered by AMD’s Ryzen 5 6600H processor alongside 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, the Aspire Lite is a steal at £399.

If you’re willing to spend much more and get a bang for your buck, then the HP OmniBook AI 17-inch laptop is your answer. It’s available for £699 (previously £999), and fortunately, you can save another £100 if you’re a student.

This laptop uses Intel’s Core Ultra 5 226V processor (which is capable of triple-A gaming), 16GB of RAM, including Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 ports, suitable for fast charging and multitasking. Don’t miss it!

All of these laptops are fantastic potential purchases for study and work. While the HP OmniBook 7 AI 17-inch is the clear standout thanks to its powerful processor and other specifications like 16GB of RAM that are well-suited for multitaskers, the other laptops are still capable of good performance, especially considering their low prices.

If you’re looking to strike a balance between affordability and power, your first option here should be the Acer Aspire Lite 15-inch, as AMD’s processor will just about get you over the line in a wide variety of heavy workloads. The best alternative is the Acer Chromebook Plus 514, which is only £249; if you ask me, that’s a steal for any laptop, particularly one using ChromeOS.

The HP OmniBook 7 AI 17-inch should only be considered if you’re looking to use the laptop for more than just regular work and study, as it’s more than capable of breezing through CPU-intensive tasks. So much so that it can run triple-A games at lower graphics settings.

These sales won’t stick around for too long, so now is the time to act!
