According to the company’s recent statement, they have made “the difficult decision” to raise the recommended retail price of PlayStation 5 consoles in the US starting August 21, citing “a challenging economic environment” as the reason for the increase.

Going forward, the standard PlayStation 5 console will have a recommended retail price of $550, up from $500, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will cost $500, up from $450, and the Pro version will be priced at $750, up from $700. Sony notes that the recommended retail prices for PlayStation 5 accessories remain unchanged and that they have no other price changes to announce for additional markets.
