About two months ago, we received Unreal Engine 5.6, which brought significant performance improvements, major upgrades to animation workflows, a new physics-based Control Rig, full integration of MetaHuman Creator, and more. Now, the first hotfix is here and ready to download.

Unreal Engine 5.6.1 includes over 270 fixes and updates, including MetaHumans, PCG, Motion Design tools, and more, addressing crashes, enhancing stability, and ensuring a smoother overall experience. Check out the full list of changes here, and please note that starting with UE5.7, Linux will switch from SDL2 to SDL3. If you’ve customized SDL2 code and plan to upgrade to UE5.7, keep in mind you’ll need to update your changes to work with SDL3.
