A trial date has been scheduled for an individual charged with illegally promoting financial products in the UK. Lucy Beck appeared at Southwark Crown Court on 30 July 2026, where she entered a not guilty plea. Her trial is set to begin on 12 June 2028, according to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

The charges relate to allegations that Beck promoted the buying and selling of foreign exchange contracts for difference (CFDs) through social media accounts and websites without being authorized to do so. This activity is said to contravene sections 21 and 25 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, which govern financial promotions and regulated activities in the UK.

The FCA, which brought the case, emphasized that unauthorized promotion of such high-risk products can expose consumers to significant financial harm. The regulator encourages anyone who believes they have suffered losses in connection with this matter to contact its consumer helpline at 0800 111 6768.

This case underscores the FCA's ongoing efforts to combat financial crime and protect investors. The authority advises the public to verify whether any firm or individual is authorized to offer financial services by using its online register, and to consult its InvestSmart resources to better understand investment risks before committing funds.
