Q4 2025 Allocation Overview

The Ethereum Foundation has published its allocation update for the fourth quarter of 2025, detailing support for a broad range of projects and initiatives. The update spans six categories: community and education, consensus layer, cryptography and zero-knowledge proofs, developer experience and tooling, execution layer, and general growth and support.

A significant portion of the funding is directed toward zero-knowledge proof research and formal verification. Grants were awarded to projects like Veridise for LLZK development, Axiom for OpenVM formal verification, and Nethermind for STIR and WHIR formalization. The foundation also supported events in Argentina and Taiwan, and funded the 2025 ethereum.org Translatathon to expand content in less-active languages.

Developer experience and tooling grants include work on the Solidity compiler's MLIR middle-end and an improved Ethereum developer ecosystem dataset. Execution layer support includes Helios integration in the Kohaku browser extension. General growth and support includes co-funding for Gitcoin Grants 24 privacy and public goods R&D domains, as well as the European Crypto Initiative for policy advocacy.
