The Ethereum Foundation has announced a major update to its executive leadership team, confirming that Tomasz Stańczak is stepping down from his position as Co-Executive Director. In response, the organization's board has appointed Bastian Aue to serve as interim Co-Executive Director with immediate effect.
During his tenure, Stańczak joined the management team amidst a crucial phase of expansion and maturation for the Ethereum Foundation. According to the announcement, his strategic leadership was pivotal in broadening community outreach, strengthening connections with ecosystem businesses, enhancing internal team efficiency, and accelerating enterprise community initiatives.
Aue steps into the interim executive role after having already served as a core member of the leadership group alongside Stańczak and fellow Co-Executive Director Hsiao-Wei. In his earlier executive responsibilities, Aue concentrated on managing foundation grants, enterprise engagement, and internal operations. The board noted that his deep familiarity with the Foundation's unique operational structure and core values will be vital for maintaining stability.
Following the leadership transition, the Ethereum Foundation stated that it remains fully dedicated to guiding the long-term technical and social development of the Ethereum network. The board expressed appreciation for Stańczak's contributions while highlighting that core network development is operating with heightened efficiency.
